The Michael Reese Research & Education Foundation was founded in 1991 as a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation in order to carry on the traditions of medical research, education, and health care service to the community, which has been a tradition at Michael Reese Hospital since 1881.
The Research & Education Foundation provides and sponsors extramural funding for patient education and care, medical research, and training of health care professionals. Since the closing of Michael Reese Hospital in 2008, the original home of the Research & Education Foundation, the Foundation has joined a partnership with the Hektoen Insitute of Medicine which enables it to continue its mission.
The Foundation services include grant management, accounting services, human resources and payroll management.
